「こんなことなら、昼寝でもしていればよかった」─ If this is how it's going to be, then I should have taken a nap.
If this is how it's going to beで「このようになるのなら」の意味になります。howの代わりにthe wayも使えます。I should have taken a nap if this is the way it's going to be.
（例）「こんなことになるなんて信じられない」─ I can't believe this is happening.

「君も鈍いね。彼女が君を好きだってことがわからないのか？」─ You're pretty slow, aren't you? Haven't you realized that she likes you? / You're not too quick, are you? Don't you see that she likes you?
