「日本では、誰かが困っていても、知らんぷりする人が多いようだね」─ It seems that when somebody is in trouble in Japan, a lot of people will just pretend not to notice.
pretend not to noticeで「気付かない振りをする」の意味になります。ignore「無視する」を使って、次のようにも言えます。In Japan it seems that people tend to ignore somebody who's in trouble.
（例）「私の言ったことは聞かなかった振りをしてほしい」─ I'd like you to pretend that you didn't hear what I said.

「色々経験する（色々ある）」─ be through a lot
「起こる」─ go on
「一睡もない」─ not sleep a wink
「彼は辛い経験をしてきた」─ He's been through some harsh experiences.
