「ここに置いてあった新聞の切り抜きどこへ行ったんだ？」─ Where are the clippings from the newspaper that were right here?
「切り抜き」はa clippingですね。articles「記事」とclip「切り抜く」を使って、Where are the articles I clipped from the newspaper that were right here?とも言えます。
（例）「新聞の記事を取っておいたことはあるかい？」─ Did you ever save articles from the newspaper?

「あそこまで、こっちの道で行くと相当大回りになる」─ Taking this road all the way there is by far the long way around. / If you go all the way there on this road, that's going far out of your way.

「通り道からかなりはずれる」─ far out of one’s way
