「先のことはわからない」─ I can’t tell the future.
can’t tell the future「将来のことは言えない」で「先のことはわからない」の意味に。No one knows what the future will bring.やYou never know what comes next.と言ってもいいでしょう。
（例）「この先、何が起こるかわからない」─ You never know what might happen further down the road.

「乗り継ぎの電車（飛行機）にもう少しで乗り遅れるところだった」─ I almost missed the connecting train. / I almost missed the connecting flight.
「乗り継ぎの電車 / 飛行機」─ connecting train / flight
「乗り継ぎが悪いと、30分くらい待たなければならないかも」─ If you don’t get your connections right, you could end up waiting about 30 minutes.
Extra Bit：「乗り継ぎがいいと意外と早く着ける」─ You can get there quicker than you might expect when the connections between trains are good.
