《今日のFUP：264》問題の本質
「この問題の本質がわかっていないんだよ」─ You don't understand the essence of this issue.
the essence of this issueが「問題の本質」に当たる表現。seeとthe real problem「本当の問題」を使って、You don't see the real problem, do you?と言ってもいいでしょう。
（例）「彼は状況を十分に把握していなかった」─ He didn't have a good grasp of the situation.
前回の復習
「彼は課長と部長を兼務している」─ He doubles as section chief and department head. / He serves concurrently as section chief and department head.
「二役を務める」─ double as ～
「同時に～として務める」─ serve concurrently as ～
「部長が第一課の課長を兼務しています」─ The division chief doubles as head of the 1st section.
Extra Bit：「同時に３つのアルバイトをしていたことがあった」─ I used to work three part-time jobs at once.
