「彼はこの居酒屋の常連なんだ」─ He's a regular at this Japanese-style pub.
aがついていることからわかるように、このregularは「常連」という意味の名詞。「顔がきく」もregularを使って表現できます。He's a regular at the bars and pubs around here.「彼はこのあたりの店では顔がきく」。
（例）「近所に行きつけのレストランがある」─ I'm a regular at a restaurant in this neighborhood.
