《今日のイディオム》take the credit
「君のお陰だよ」─ You're the one who should take the credit this time.
take the credit「手柄にする、功績を認められる」で「お陰である」を表現しています。「今回は彼女に花を持たせましょう」は、Let's let her take the credit this time.と言います。takeの代わりにgetも使えます。例文をもう一つ。かなり長くなりますが……I want to thank you all for giving me this award. But it would be wrong for me to get all the credit. I couldn't have done it without my teammates.「この賞をいただき皆さんに感謝しています。ですが、すべてが私の功績ではありません。チームメイトがいなければなしえなかったでしょう」。
