今週の復習です。英語の筋トレに使用した英文を音声を聞きながら再チェックしましょう。音読も忘れずに!

B: She always gets nervous before a presentation.

B: Do you want the window seat?

6. I couldn't hold back my tears.
7. Those are crocodile tears.
8. She had tears welling up in his eyes.
9. That movie made me shed a tear.
10. Wipe your tears away and cheer up.




今日のワンポイント

金曜日《表現》にcrocodile tears「嘘の涙、嘘泣き」が出てきました。動物を使った他の表現をいくつか紹介しましょう。

That guy is as sly as a fox.
→あいつはずる賢い。
My stomach is growling like a bear.
→お腹がものすごい音を立てて鳴っている。
It's like killing two birds with one stone.
→それって一石二鳥だな。
I'm getting sick and tired of the rat race.
→競争社会にはうんざりだ。
Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
→捕らぬ狸の皮算用。
