Don't just fling your coat across the couch.

【和訳】
上着をソファーの上に放っておくんじゃないよ。
クローゼットにかけなさい。
あとについて片づけるなんて、うんざりだよ。

【解説】
fling「放り出す」。この場合のacrossは「横切って、広げられた」の意味。hang up「掛ける」、get tired of ～ing「～するのが嫌になる、うんざりする」、clean up「片づける」。

《例文》
1. You can't just keep flinging things all over the place indefinitely.
→いつまでも散らかしっぱなしにしないでよね。
2. She slapped him across the face.
→彼女は彼の顔をひっぱたいた。
3. Rinse the rag, wring it out and then hang it up over there.
→その雑巾、すすいでから絞って、そこに掛けておいてね。
4. I never get tired of looking at a baby's face.
→赤ちゃんの顔は見ていて飽きないよね。
5. Now all that's left is to clean up and go home.
→後は、片づけてから帰るだけ。

【音読アドバイス】
《ポイント：子音[ŋ]》 bring, during, interesting, sing
Don't, fling, coat, coachにストレスを置いて言います。Hang it upは「ハンギッラップ」のように発音。closetでいったんイントネーションを上げてから下げましょう。getting, tiredを強め、cleaning upは「クリーニンアップ」、upで軽く上げ、youで下げます。
