《今日のFUP：880》優等生的
「彼女の答えは優等生的で、面白みに欠けていた」─ Her answer was straight out of the textbook -- nothing interesting.
be straight out of the textbookとは「教科書からそのまま持ってきた」という意味。parrot「（機械的に）繰り返す」を使って、次のように言ってもいいでしょう。Her answer was correct, but she was just parroting the textbook. It wasn't that interesting.
（例）「彼は何でも型通りにやる」─ He does everything by the book.
前回の復習
「彼女がコンピューターに詳しいとは意外だった」─ I never would have thought that she knew a lot about computers. / I wouldn't have imagined that she knew so much about computers.
「意外（考えてもみない）」─ never think
「想像する」─ imagine
「彼を見たとしても、教師だったとは思わないだろう」─ To look at him, you'd never think he was a teacher.
