Feature 1: Portraits of Nine Creators who Threaten the Current Age
Web, Visual, Interactive..., Don't Overlook New Talents!
In this feature, we invite nine notable Web creators, who all wear many hats as designers, programmers, visual artists, etc. What these nine creators share in common is that, although still in their 20s, they all have a track record of success and a fastidious approach that ushered in a new era. They influence seasoned creators with new vibrant philosophies and talents, while stimulating their peers as rivals. We close in on a welter of gifts that “threaten the current age.”
Feature 2: Estimates are a Strategy! Special Feature
How to Decide? How to Think? 10 Production Companies Attempt to Make Imaginary Estimates!
A discussion of an “estimate” is inseparable from Web production. It rarely comes up out in the open, and that’s the very reason why it intrigues us. It is indeed difficult to introduce the knowhow for estimates in one go, for it’s highly specific to each case. By laying out a certain “topic,” and having these various production companies tackle it, we ventured to focus on the “specificity” of a job. As a starter, our editorial desk installed a new “imaginary hair salon” located about 15-minute train ride from the heart of the city. What sorts of plans and estimates will the 10 companies come up with? If such and such hair salon offered you a job… take this chance and think about it!
“Internet Yami-ichi”(Internet Black Market) in Berlin
A Real Report by Uncle Internet!
Known by the phrase “Tough Electronic Commerce that you can’t buy into unless you go there,” the “Internet Black Market” is a flea market where you can sell anything Internet related (except things that are illegal and/or hazardous). Having been held twice in Japan so far, this much-talked-about black market will be held as a closing event at the biggest media art festival in Europe “Transmediale 2014”! The market’s popular figure “Uncle Internet” makes a report on it!

IEIRI Kazuma Gubernatorial Election Site_Behind the Scenes of Japan’s First Internet Mobilized Election
On February 9th, the gubernatorial election was held for the first time since the opening of Internet elections. As one of the runners, IEIRI Kazuma announced his candidacy. He is the founder of paperboy&co. that handles rental server business, and a key figure who takes part in a variety of venture companies like Livery. Mr. IEIRI has worked closely with Web Designing authoring a serial and making an appearance at “dotFes,” etc. This election garnered much attention with its active mobilization of the Internet through the use of Twitter, Facebook, Crowd Funding and TwitCasting. Websites, which served as collaborators for the event, were updated each and every day by a handful of staff members and volunteers in an effort to provide accumulated information in time. Mr. IEIRI shares with us the battlefield-like behind the scenes of the election.

KAWAKAMI Kei (asobi graphic)_Arriving at the Ultimate “Play” for a Man who Enjoys both Hobbies and Work
Under the style of “asobi”(play), KAWAKAMI Kei enjoys his work in the same way that he does his hobbies such as cycling and soccer. It’s not that he thinks of his job “half play.” For him, work and hobbies are equivalent. What is the relationship between “work and play” that KAWAKAMI, a pursuer of ‘play,’ ended up with?

KOBATASHI Môko (Embroiderer)_A Drop of Playful Spirit to Traditional Bead Embroidery
By manipulating a crochet hook called “crochet de luneville,” embroidery is created with impalpable beads of just 1mm in diameter. There is a Japanese artist, who sublimates this French tradition into contemporary popular art by making full use of “luneville embroidery,” a technique indispensable to the world of haute couture. Her name is KOBATASHI Môko. From adorable animals that no one can resist, to comically embroidered anatomical charts and organs, to original interpretations of paintings and ukiyo-e, her accessories and objects are considered “clues to topics” for fun conversations. We explore the origin of the vision of the artist, who infuses playful spirit into each drop of glittering beads.
