As part of its promotion, Orient Industry, known for the manufacture of real dolls, developed a humanoid listening machine by incorporating Lady Gaga’s silicon doll “GAGADOLL.” Its production process is now open to the public on a Website, while Site Jack, a collaboration project with Yahoo! JAPAN, has also been launched, both of which have attracted much attention. How have those unconventional ideas been brought into reality?

SHINOHARA Noriko (Artist)_Where the Cute and Bitter Scroll Painting of Her Life is Heading for
A powerful scroll painting depicting the life of a woman with braded hair started with a regular sketchbook and extended over a 20-meter-wide canvas. The image of the woman who, based in New York, devoted herself to raising her child while battling with her husband who, as a genius artist, pays no notice of the life of his family, reflects half of her life as a painter. Her name is SHINOHARA Noriko. While supporting a postwar avant-garde art maverick SHINOHARA Ushio, known for his “boxing painting,” as his wife, she herself never quit being an artist. Her alter ego and a series that vibrates through her own brushstrokes “Cutie and Bullie” has garnered attention along with the documentary “Cutie and Boxer,” a film that chronicles the couple’s lives.

The biggest characteristic of the music application “FAN” is that information on new songs and live performances are just one push away if you register as a “FAN” of any musicians you like. With the “shout” function, which allows you to express your love for certain songs by typing in comments and pressing a key repeatedly, the application also serves as an SNS that connects people through music. The developer LoiLo’s chief operating officer SUGIYAMA Ryutaro says, “The objective of FAN is to increase the number of people who learn about a musician, become her/his fan, and go to her/his live show.” Having YouTube online free videos as its base, FAN is a new form of “emotional appeal format O2O” that links fans to live music.
